Our friends in Nepal

The school where the clinic was
Our friends that we met in Nepal have a blogspot check it out!! Their blog is at: http://www.newhorizonchildrens.blogspot.com/
They may be a small community, but they have big hearts.
The clinic

While we were in Nepal we did charity work with them and helped our parents (both doctors) to perform operartions that were small, but changed the lives of the individuals that we helped. These included Hernia operations, which made the people a lot more comfortable in the community.

It was life changing to see how little they had, but how much happiness they had inside of them. We made friends with the scouts at the local school who helped us a lot with everything we did. Our clinic was set up in the school itself, as there was no where else suitable.

When we arrived we gave the school a good scrub and set up for the operations. Both of us were put in charge of the store cupboard/pharmacy, but we ran out of suppies fast and had to make trips to the local pharmacies in JhibJhibe. The most troubles in the patients were gastric problems and problems with acidity due to an unbalanced diet. We ran out of ant acid tablets and omeprazole pretty quickly.

While we were in the store cupboard we had a lot of free time, so we made friends with the local children from the school. They were so friendly. We would especially like to thank Kabita Devkota, who recently sent us photos in an email and the scouts who helped us out with getting water and with other jobs.

Back in Australia

Hello to our Nepali friends
It was a long flight back to Australia. We stopped over in Thailand on the way home and we had to wait there for Six hours. By then we had not had much sleep so we lay down in the airport and slept!!

We then got on the plane again for a long flight. We hope that you all had fun while we were in Jhib Jhibe. We will never forget you and we still have all of your presents.
